What is JEFG

Northern New Jersey Jewish Education for Generations (JEFG) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization established in 2009 by community lay leaders to work with our day school network and the broader community to identify and implement solutions to the financial challenges facing our schools and their parent bodies. It is a unique and powerful model with a proven track record of collaboration and innovation. Not only have we begun to feel the impact in our community, but based on our success, this model is being emulated in other communities around the country.

JEFG is comprised of representatives from all of the schools in Bergen County and a lay leader Board of Directors who work with communal rabbinic leadership and local and national organizations, such as the OU, Yeshiva University, AVI CHAI Foundation, Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, and the RCBC, in order to establish broad-based communal support to develop long-term transformational solutions.

The JEFG member schools are:

  • Ben Porat Yosef

  • The Moriah School
  • The Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey
